Keeping Sunnyslope beautiful
More than 20 volunteers gathered in Sunnyslope recently to spruce up the area with a trash cleanup before its festive holiday market and parade.
Phoenix Councilwoman Debra Stark joined Local First Arizona, HonorHealth, Hatcher Urban Businesses and Keep Phoenix Beautiful to pick up along the Hatcher Road business corridor from Central Avenue to 15th Avenue.
“Sunnyslope is one of the most active parts of my district. Talk about a sense of community they have here! They’re always out volunteering. They’re here to help people. It’s a great part of the district, and I’m glad to be here today.”
“We’re here because it’s an incredible opportunity to invest in this great part of Phoenix. It’s a coalition of folks from local business owners to community members and key anchor institutions to see what we can do to beautify this area right before their holiday market.”
“We are thrilled to be part of this event. There are so many cool partnerships that are going on. We are very invested in the Sunnyslope community because we have our Mountain View Park community garden here. We love it.”
“Doing this cleanup on Hatcher is important for HonorHealth as we have one of our important medical centers here, and we want to make sure residents are healthy.”
