Conocé la historia de Luz de Luna Reception Hall: “¡No desistas! No importa cuánto tiempo te tome para alcanzar tu meta.”
Tina Santos dejó atrás su amado país México, llena de ilusiones para triunfar en un país totalmente nuevo, sin familia donde apoyarse y sin tener dominio del idioma inglés. Cuenta orgullosamente que trabajó muy duro porque no podía regresar a su país derrotada, pero sus deseos de superación y el amor a sí misma y a sus sueños la levantaban cada día para dar el siguiente paso hacia sus metas. Estar sola en este país le ayudó a ser ordenada y proponerse metas a corto y largo plazo, pero sobre todo hacer lo que fuera necesario hasta alcanzar cada una de ellas.
Empezó a estudiar inglés, aprendió rápido dando lo mejor para no defraudar a quienes le ofrecieron un buen empleo en una cadena de hoteles donde trabajó 20 años, desafortunadamente llegó la pandemia y perdió su trabajo, y otra vez se enfrentó a empezar de cero. En esta ocasión aparecieron problemas de salud a los 2 meses después de perder su trabajo y fue considerada una persona discapacitada, aislada en su casa solo podía salir al patio trasero en las tardes al principio de la pandemia. Observar la luna llena le fascina, la llenaba de energía positiva; de ahí llegó la idea de “Luz de Luna” Reception Hall e inició su búsqueda de recursos educativos para poder abrir su propio negocio.
Tina encontró un trabajo donde podía trabajar desde casa y trabajar en conjunto con sus objetivos de abrir su salón de eventos. Durante 6 meses dio sus primeros pasos en el Acelerador de Negocios para darle formalidad a su emprendimiento y obtener la educación necesaria para aprender sobre registro del negocio, plan de negocios y darle un rostro a su negocio a través de su logotipo.
Tomó más de 2 años para completar y ver como una realidad su sueño de Luz de Luna Reception Hall LLC.
“En ocasiones los problemas eran tan grandes y solamente mi fe en que yo puedo lograrlo, sin importar que tan difícil fuese el siguiente paso, siempre avanzaba lento pero seguro, ¡para atrás ni para agarrar impulso! Renunciar a mi meta no era una opción y si se pudo gracias a toda una comunidad de organizaciones no lucrativas como Fuerza Local y todo su equipo que colabora en la implementación de programas educativos como el Acelerador de Negocios”- Comenta Tina Santos.
En agosto del 2023, por fin el sueño de Tina tomó forma, llena de sentimientos encontrados por ver su sueño hecho una realidad, abrazó la idea de sentirse orgullosa, sin importar cuantos obstáculos se le presentaron, ella los supo eliminar uno tras otro. Tina agradece enormemente a la comunidad y organizaciones que contribuyeron a su sueño sin generarle un costo extra y apoyando con becas como la que recibió de Fuerza Local.
El apoyo y la unidad de su familia fue pieza clave para alcanzar sus metas; para Tina su familia es la base de todo lo que ella es y representa. “Mis padres son personas muy trabajadoras y con valores muy altos. ¡Ellos son mi mayor inspiración!”
Generar trabajos en la comunidad para Tina es una gran responsabilidad que está dispuesta a llevar. Para otros emprendedores les recomienda fijarse metas a corto y largo plazo, buscar ayuda, ser constantes y fuertes y no escuchar retroalimentación negativa. Tener un plan B por si el plan A no funciona y plan C por si los 2 primeros no te sirvieron. No desistir, no importa cuánto tiempo te tome hasta alcanzar tu meta.

MEET LUZ DE LUNA RECEPTION HALL: "Don't give up! No matter how long it takes you to reach your goal"
Tina Santos left behind her beloved country Mexico, full of illusions to succeed in a totally new country, with no family to support her and not being fluent in the English language. She proudly tells us that she worked very hard because she could not return to her country without accomplishing her goals here. Her desire to excel and her love for herself and her dreams lifted her up every day to take the next step toward her goals. Being alone in this country helped her to be orderly and to set short and long term goals, but above all to do whatever it took to achieve each one of them.
She began to study English, learned quickly and did her best not to disappoint those who offered her a good job in a hotel chain where she worked for 20 years, unfortunately the pandemic arrived and she lost her job, and again she had to start from scratch. This time health problems appeared 2 months after losing her job and she was considered a disabled person, isolated in her house, only able to go out in the backyard in the evenings at the beginning of the pandemic. Watching the full moon fascinated her, it filled her with positive energy; from there came the idea of "Luz de Luna" Reception Hall and she began her search for educational resources so she could open her own business.
Tina found a job where she could work from home and work in conjunction with her goal of opening her Reception Hall. For 6 months she took her first steps in the Fuerza Local Business Accelerator to formalize her venture and get the education she needed to learn about business registration, forming a business plan and putting a face to her business through her logo.
It took over 2 years to complete and see her dream of Luz de Luna Reception Hall LLC as a reality.
"At times the problems were so great and only my faith that I could make it happen, no matter how difficult the next step was, I always moved forward slowly but surely, *not backing up or gaining momentum! Giving up on my goal was not an option! This was possible thanks to a whole community of non-profit organizations such as Fuerza Local and its team that collaborates in the implementation of educational programs such as the Business Accelerator"- Tina Santos says.
In August 2023, Tina's dream finally took shape, full of mixed feelings to see her dream come true, she embraced the idea of feeling proud, no matter how many obstacles were presented to her, she knew how to eliminate them one after another. Tina is very grateful to the community and organizations that contributed to her dream free of charge and supporting her with scholarships such as the one she received from Fuerza Local.
The support and unity of her family was key to achieving her goals; for Tina her family is the foundation of everything she is and represents. "My parents are hard working people with very high values, they are my biggest inspiration!"
Generating jobs in the community for Tina is a big responsibility that she is willing to carry. For other entrepreneurs she recommends setting short and long-term goals, seeking help, being consistent and strong, and not listening to negative feedback. Have a Plan B in case Plan A doesn't work and Plan C in case the first 2 didn't work. Don't give up, no matter how long it takes you to reach your goal.
