Arizona allows you to apply dollar-for-dollar credit towards your state taxes when you donate to a Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) up to $495 single, married filing separate or head of household; $987 married filing joint.
The AZ credit is unique in that it empowers taxpayers to direct tax dollars to charities whose services they believe provide the most value to their local communities, rather than going directly to the state for distribution to other services.

To claim the credit on your 2024 return, make a charitable donation to Local First Arizona Foundation before April 15, 2025. When you file your tax return, include Arizona Form 321 and use Local First Arizona’s QCO code: 22141.
The maximum allowable credit that can be claimed for single taxpayers, married filing separate filers, or heads of household filers for charitable contributions to QCOs is $470 single, married filing separate or head of household; $938 married filing joint.

You do not have to donate the entire amount at one time. Donations that are given throughout the year to Arizona tax-deductible charities that add up to the $495 single, married filing separate or head of household; $987 married filing joint
Any credits for charitable contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCOs) and Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations (QFCOs) not claimed in a tax year carry forward up to five years.
