The first-ever cohort of the YWCA Green Business Program will be wrapping up in September! Through LFA Sustainability’s partnership with the Women’s Business Center and the YWCA of Southern Arizona, several Tucson businesses have had the opportunity to receive one-on-one support for all their sustainability and business planning needs. The YWCA and LFA Sustainability along with the Tucson Mayor's Office will host a virtual graduation event on September 9th to recognize these businesses for their green leadership.

Throughout the program, business leaders have learned about issues related to heat mitigation, water savings, community engagement and advocacy, waste reduction, environmental justice, regenerative economic principles, and more. Businesses at all stages of development have successfully advanced their project plans, receiving localized tools and resources that fit their needs and can help sustain their operations far into the future.

The following Tucson businesses will be recognized with certificates at the September 9th graduation:

Vee’s Healthy Living and the Tucson Rainwater Harvesting Co-op will also be recognized for their participation in the program.

The ceremony will also feature a Climate Action Panel and video premiere telling the story of the efforts of the City of Tucson and the partnership of YWCA, Local First Arizona, and Tucson 2030 District and transformative work being done by YWCA and House of Neighborly Service (HNS), followed by the recording of a ceremonial tree planting with Tucson Clean & Beautiful and Tucson Million Trees.
