Celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana: Yorsa Martinez y su compromiso con la comunidad empresarial
Hace algunos años, Yorsa Martinez se sentaba entre decenas de emprendedores que buscaban aprender cómo convertir una idea en un negocio. Hoy regresa al mismo salón, pero desde el frente del aula. Ya no llega como estudiante, sino como facilitadora, coach y conferencista que acompaña a otros en el mismo camino que ella recorrió. Su historia refleja el poder de la preparación, la perseverancia y el compromiso de devolver a la comunidad aquello que un día recibió.
Originaria de Venezuela, Yorsa emigró a Estados Unidos en 2017 con una vocación muy clara: ayudar a las personas a transformar sus vidas. Con una formación en psicología y certificaciones en coaching de mentalidad y reprogramación mental, comenzó a colaborar con bibliotecas locales ofreciendo talleres comunitarios gratuitos sobre autoestima, crecimiento personal y motivación. Con el tiempo, sin embargo, se dio cuenta de que su propósito necesitaba una base más sólida que le permitiera llegar a más personas y generar un impacto aún mayor.
Un propósito que cruzó fronteras
Cuando Yorsa llegó a Arizona en 2020, descubrió Fuerza Local. Fue ahí donde decidió formalizar el trabajo que había estado realizando de manera independiente, lo que la llevó a crear YM Promotions, una empresa de consultoría, coaching y capacitación enfocada en el desarrollo personal y profesional.
A través de sesiones de coaching individuales, talleres, conferencias y programas grupales, YM Promotions brinda a emprendedores, mujeres y organizaciones herramientas para fortalecer el liderazgo, la confianza en sí mismos, la comunicación y la mentalidad. Su misión va más allá del desarrollo profesional; se trata de ayudar a las personas a reconocer su potencial y avanzar hacia sus metas con confianza."Mi principal motivación fue observar la gran cantidad de mujeres que vivían con baja autoestima y creencias limitantes que les impedían crecer, emprender o confiar en sus capacidades", menciona Yorsa.
Como toda emprendedora, el camino también ha presentado desafíos. Adaptarse a un nuevo país, construir una empresa desde cero y enfrentar la barrera del idioma han sido algunos de los más significativos. Aun así, Yorsa ha aprendido que cada reto forma parte del crecimiento.“Una de las lecciones más grandes que he aprendido es respetar los tiempos de la vida y entender que las cosas no siempre suceden cuando queremos, sino cuando realmente estamos preparados para recibirlas”, afirma. Es una lección que ahora aplica tanto en su negocio como en su vida personal.
Ese mismo compromiso con el aprendizaje constante la ha llevado a convertirse también en escritora. Actualmente cuenta con dos libros publicados y un tercero próximo a lanzarse, además de ofrecer conferencias y participar en distintos espacios dedicados al desarrollo humano.
El impacto de Fuerza Local: aprender, crecer y regresar para servir
El camino de Yorsa con Fuerza Local comenzó como el de muchos emprendedores: con una idea y el deseo de aprender cómo transformarla en un negocio sostenible. Como participante del Programa Acelerador de Negocios, adquirió conocimientos valiosos sobre estructura empresarial, finanzas, marketing, impuestos y desarrollo de negocios. Pero más allá de las herramientas técnicas, encontró algo igualmente valioso: una comunidad de apoyo que le permitió construir relaciones significativas con otros emprendedores mientras fortalecía su visión como propietaria de un negocio."Encontré un programa que me brindó la orientación y las herramientas necesarias para transformar una idea en un negocio real y tangible", recuerda.
Hoy, su relación con Fuerza Local ha completado un ciclo. Además de dirigir su propia empresa, para ella, regresar como instructora tiene un significado profundamente personal. Yorsa también ofrece sesiones gratuitas de coaching para emprendedores participantes del Programa Acelerador de Negocios, enfocadas en trabajo en equipo y liderazgo. "Para mí es muy significativo recordar que un día estuve sentada en esas mismas aulas como estudiante, aprendiendo a estructurar mi negocio, y que hoy puedo regresar como instructora para acompañar a otros emprendedores en ese mismo proceso."
Su experiencia le permite comprender los temores, dudas e ilusiones de quienes participan en el programa. Por eso, más que impartir una clase, busca convertirse en una guía que impulse a otros a creer en sí mismos y construir empresas sólidas."Esa es la mayor satisfacción", comparte. "Verlos llegar con una idea y, seis meses después, observar cómo han crecido, fortalecido su confianza y comenzado a hacer realidad su proyecto."

Para Yorsa, el Mes de la Herencia Hispana representa mucho más que una celebración cultural. Es un momento para reconocer el talento, la resiliencia y las contribuciones que la comunidad latina realiza todos los días.
Como inmigrante, emprendedora, autora y facilitadora, entiende que su historia puede motivar a otras personas que están comenzando de nuevo en un nuevo país."Más que considerarme un ejemplo, deseo ser una voz que motive a otros emprendedores latinos a creer en sus capacidades y entender que su origen, su acento o las dificultades del camino no determinan hasta dónde pueden llegar."
Ese mensaje también refleja la misión de Fuerza Local: brindar educación, recursos y oportunidades que empoderen a emprendedores latinos e hispanos para transformar sus ideas en negocios sostenibles y generar un impacto duradero en sus comunidades.
Hoy, Yorsa continúa construyendo ese legado a través de YM Promotions y de su trabajo junto a Fuerza Local. Su historia es un recordatorio de que el verdadero éxito no se mide únicamente por alcanzar nuestras propias metas, sino también por regresar para ayudar a otros a alcanzar las suyas. Como ella suele decirles a los emprendedores que están comenzando: “Un negocio es como un bebé. Tienes que nutrirlo, alimentarlo, cuidarlo y permitirle crecer poco a poco”. Con paciencia, preparación y perseverancia, los sueños realmente pueden convertirse en realidad.

When Yorsa arrived in Arizona in 2020, she discovered Fuerza Local. It was there that she decided to formalize the work she had been doing independently, leading to the creation of YM Promotions, a consulting, coaching and training company focused on personal and professional development.
Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, conferences and group programs, YM Promotions equips entrepreneurs, women and organizations with tools to strengthen leadership, self-confidence, communication and mindset. Her mission extends beyond professional development, it is about helping people recognize their potential and move toward their goals with confidence.“My biggest motivation was seeing so many women living with low self-esteem and limiting beliefs that kept them from growing, starting businesses or believing in their own abilities,” Yorsa says.
Like every entrepreneur, her journey has come with challenges. Adapting to a new country, building a business from the ground up and overcoming the language barrier have been among the most significant. Even so, Yorsa has learned that every challenge is part of the process.“One of the greatest lessons I've learned is to respect the timing of life and understand that things don't always happen when we want them to, but when we're truly ready to receive them,” she says.
It is a lesson she now applies to both her business and her personal life.
Her commitment to lifelong learning has also led her to become an author. She has published two books, with a third scheduled for release soon, while continuing to deliver keynote presentations and participate in programs dedicated to personal development.

Yorsa’s journey with Fuerza Local began like that of many entrepreneurs, with an idea and the desire to learn how to transform it into a sustainable business. Today, her relationship with Fuerza Local has come full circle. In addition to running her own company, Yorsa volunteers as a coach for entrepreneurs and facilitates team-building and leadership sessions during the Business Accelerator Program. For her, returning as an instructor carries deep personal meaning. “It means so much to remember that one day I was sitting in those same classrooms as a student, learning how to structure my business. Today, I have the opportunity to return as an instructor and guide other entrepreneurs through that same process.”
Having experienced the program firsthand allows her to understand the fears, questions and hopes of each participant. More than teaching a class, she strives to become a mentor who inspires others to believe in themselves and build strong, sustainable businesses.“That’s the greatest reward,” she says. “Watching someone walk in with just an idea, and six months later seeing how much they've grown, how their confidence has increased, and how they're beginning to turn their vision into reality.”

For Yorsa, Hispanic Heritage Month represents far more than a cultural celebration. It is an opportunity to recognize the talent, resilience and contributions that the Latino community makes every single day.
As an immigrant, entrepreneur, author and facilitator, she understands that her story can encourage others who are starting over in a new country. “Rather than seeing myself as a role model, I hope to be a voice that inspires other Latino entrepreneurs to believe in their abilities and understand that their background, their accent or the challenges they've faced do not determine how far they can go.”
That message also reflects the mission of Fuerza Local: providing education, resources and opportunities that empower Latino and Hispanic entrepreneurs to transform ideas into sustainable businesses while creating lasting impact in their communities.
Today, Yorsa continues building that legacy through YM Promotions and her work alongside Fuerza Local. Her story is a reminder that true success isn't measured only by achieving your own goals, but by returning to help others achieve theirs.
As she often tells aspiring entrepreneurs, “A business is like a baby. You have to nurture it, feed it, care for it and allow it to grow little by little.” With patience, preparation and perseverance, dreams really can become reality.
