Gallup poll: Small businesses are most trusted institution in America
A recent Gallup poll shows Americans trust small businesses more than any institution in our daily lives.
Small businesses are trusted by 65% of Americans compared to only 14% for big businesses, and that confidence has been high for decades.

Americans tend to view small businesses as mom-and-pops that serve their communities, Gallup Senior Editor Jeff Jones told Inc. magazine.
"That would contrast with how people often view 'big business' — one of the lowest rated institutions — as faceless corporations run by uber-wealthy people who are focused on maximizing profits and stock value," he said.
Small businesses, which employ nearly half of U.S. workers, have long been the backbone of the American economy, closely linked to the American dream, news outlet Axios reports.
One reason is that “faith in small businesses crosses party lines: 64% of Democrats, 68% of Republicans and 66% of independents say they have a fair amount or great deal of confidence.”

“The best way to support small businesses is to shop locally and to spread the word about them. This means buying products and services from small businesses in your community.
Additionally, you can spread the word about small businesses and help them grow by leaving positive reviews on websites like Yelp, Google, and Facebook.
Engaging with them on social media and attending any events or promotions they host can also be a great way to show your support.”
