Here is Liesl and her dog Nubi!

Indie Week XXL has come to a close and, while we are sad to see it end, we are so excited about all the people who participated and helped support their local businesses! We loved seeing all the pictures and experiences that you shared. As you know, participants had the opportunity to win some pretty incredible prizes, courtesy of Hownd and some other local partners, including our grand prize! Well, the time has come to announce the winner of the grand prize package...congratulations Liesl Pimentel!!!

Liesl documented her journey with infectious enthusiasm. Despite being able to cross off multiple businesses with one visit, she made the effort to visit individual businesses for each square; she visited 25 separate businesses and planned a rural vacation to Camp Verde.

“Supporting Local First Arizona #indieweekaz this month kept me feeling like I was running all around AZ to discover the awesome small, independent businesses that make our community so great,” Liesl said of her experience participating in Indie Week XXL. “In the grand scheme of it all,  I only patronized a tiny fraction of all the amazing businesses out there, but this motivated me to keep exploring more within my city and also more of ruralaz.com.”

As part of her grand prize, Liesl won a certificate for a free 2 night stay at the Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort in Tucson plus a $50 gift certificate to their restaurant, a $25 Pedal Haus Brewery gift card, a $50 Pomegranate Cafe gift card, a Remedy Salon & Spa gift card for $50, a Zia Records gift card for $50 and four passes to Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course! A huge THANK YOU to these businesses for sponsoring the grand prize and participating in Indie Week XXL.

We also want to say thank you and congratulations again to Liesl for being a part of Indie Week XXL and taking the time, funds and effort to support so many local businesses! Check out the pictures she shared of her experiences during Indie Week!
