Explore the united efforts behind supporting small, locally owned businesses, like Huss Brewing Company in their journey to make a sustainable shift.

Sustainable Business Certification for Local Food Businesses

Food businesses are taking on more of the responsibility to practice sustainably. Certification programs help guide businesses on ways to uncover and strategize which sustainable practices are most important to their operations. GLOCULL partners linked up with locally owned Huss Brewing Co., infamous for their ‘Papago Orange Blossom’ ale, to help owners and staff meet LFA’s Green Business Certification and B-Corp Certification requirements.

The project included a baseline assessment of Huss’s initial sustainability performance, support of the design and implementation of sustainable practices; creating educational materials along the way to capture important information on best practices and lessons learned. Data produced from this GLOCULL partnership will create the base for other food businesses to move more swiftly and effectively through sustainability certification processes and to be recognized for their leadership in sustainable business practices.
