Get Ready for Phoestivus 2021!

Airing of Grievances, Feats of Strength, and an unadorned aluminum pole: these are all signs that Phoestivus is here. Add Hipster Santa, Phreddie the Yeti, live local music, live art demos, and you can see why Phoestivus is one of Phoenix’s favorite events!

Launched in 2010, Phoestivus is part homage to Seinfeld’s take on the winter holidays and part German Christmas market, which the event’s founder, Ken Clark, fell in love with while in Germany.

Founded at the home of the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market, this event is an all-inclusive and slightly quirky December celebration that values locally-owned businesses, locally-made products and our community. On December 15 & 16, from 5pm-10pm, attendees can find perfect gifts for everyone on their list, while enjoying a seasonal Phoestivus Ale from Phoenix Beer Co.  All gifts are handmade by local artists or are designed and curated by small local business owners. There are even gifts for your furry friends! Pets are welcome throughout the event, with special photo opportunities and gifts set up on Dogtopia Lane (1st Street).

Getting there is easy, too!

  • Ride your bike and receive a free drink token redeemable for a non-alcoholic beverage at one of the bars.

  • Take the light rail, hop-off at the Central and Roosevelt stop

  • Rideshare companies can drop and pick up at 1st Street and Garfield.

  • If you drive, discounted parking for $12 per car at the Arizona Center, then it’s just a short jaunt to Phoestivus.

Come enjoy live music from local bands playing on the Coronado Porch Concert Stage or boogie away in the Recordbar Alley as DJs spin funk, world, boogie, jazz and more. Check out live art demos from Desert Bloom, Cahokia, and more. New this year, we are featuring other special brews from Greenwood Brewery, Arizona Wilderness, Wren House, and Walter Station or wine from Hidden Track Bottle Shop. Superstition Meadery will be on site with cider and mead. Wild Tonic is offereing hard and non-alcoholic kombucha and Big Marble is offering its new, non-alcoholic ginger beer, as well.

You can’t drink without something tasty to eat! Fill your belly with the best Phoenix event food. Vegan food offerings include: Pachamama, Raul’s Cocina, Urban Beans VEGAN, Maya’s Cajun Kitchen, and more. Carnivores delight in enjoying Chilte Tacos, Reef’s Mediterranean Kitchen, Habbouz Tunisian Food, the elusive Phoenix Lechon, and more. Let your tastebuds delight in sweets from Pastry Unicorn, Live Laugh Fudge, The Modern Betty, Mr. K’s Cookies, Pam’s Snacks, and more!

This is the best and most fun way to support the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market and small Phoenix area growers.  For just $5 you can pick up this year’s raffle, which is a chocolate bar made by DNA Chocolate and may include a chance to win one of 20 larger prizes, including tickets to the McDowell Mtn Music Fest. You can also grab an exclusive shirt, patches or socks with Phreddie the Yeti’s grinning face that is fun to wear year-round.

Admission to Phoestivus is free although donations are greatly appreciated and go directly to Community Food Connections, which manages the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market. In the next few months, the farmers market will need to move to a new location and funds from this event will greatly assist in those efforts. Community Food Connections also awards growers grants and small business scholarships to the Farmers Market vendors. The continued operation of the farmers market is essential to providing nutritious foods to those using EBT and DUFB to feed their families.

Join us at Phoestivus! December 15 & 16, 5pm-10pm, entrances at 1st Street and McKinley and 1st street and Pierce. Admission is free. Don’t have time to peruse in person? Pre-order your Phoestivus goodies online through Shop Local First and pick them up at the event.
