Arizona Good Business Summit Returns April 20-22 — Virtually!
2020 has changed the way we do business and, in some ways, what good business really means. This year, the Arizona Good Business Summit is going virtual to report on the state of small business and how we can rebuild stronger, more equitable communities. You may be thinking - another digital event? Yes — but this one matters. It's accessible, it's affordable and we can't let a pandemic halt ongoing work to build a stronger Arizona.
The 3rd Annual Arizona Good Business Summit will be held virtually on April 20-22. This three-day conference will bring together over 500 small businesses, community leaders and national figures such as Vincent Stanley, the Director at Patagonia , and Rodney Foxworth, CEO of Common Future, to discuss the dynamics and complexity of doing business in today’s world. We will discuss the economic and social issues that rocked 2020, such as social justice and environmental action, and discuss solutions for them. Small businesses lead the way in transformative systems change and the AZGBS will spotlight those leading the charge through innovative business models.
As if the incredible speakers weren’t enough if you get your tickets by April 1st then you’ll also get a branded State 48 shirt. A special thank you to OneAZ for being an incredible partner and helping to make the event possible!
Each day of the Arizona Good Business Summit will focus on a specific theme:
Apr. 20 | The State of Small Business: Keynote Address by Kimber Lanning, CEO of Local First Arizona. Panel discussions featuring business leaders from Changing Hands Bookstore, Co + Hoots and Project Equity.
Apr. 21 | The Business Case for Social Justice: Keynote Address by Rodney Foxworth, Chief Executive Officer at Common Future. Panel discussions featuring business leaders from Goodmans Furniture, Equality Arizona and Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals and Valley Leadership.
Apr. 22 | (Earth Day) Environmental Action: Keynote Address by Vincent Stanley, Director at Patagonia and co-author of “The Responsible Company.” Panel discussion featuring business leaders from Arizona Thrives, Arizona Wilderness Brewing, Nature Conservancy and Arizona State University’s School of Sustainability.
“Arizona is a small business state, and a robust recovery will be dependent on local leaders demanding more than just getting back to business as usual,” says Thomas Barr, Vice President of Business Development at Local First Arizona. “This pandemic has made the disparities in our country ever so clear, and we are looking forward to an exchange of ideas on how we revive our economy and build a stronger, more vibrant state.”
