Para Alejandra, Karla y Angélica, las tres hermanas detrás de Magical Gems by Gely, también se convirtieron en la base para construir un pequeño negocio basado en la colaboración familiar y la expresión creativa.
El proyecto comenzó cuando una de ellas atravesaba una etapa difícil a nivel profesional. Lo que pudo haber sido solo incertidumbre se convirtió en impulso. Unidas por el deseo de apoyarse mutuamente, decidieron emprender juntas. El nombre de su negocio fue inspirado por su mamá, Angélica, una mujer cuya influencia y valores inspiraron el nombre y el espíritu de la marca.
Construido a través de la colaboración y la perseverancia, Magical Gems by Gely refleja el compromiso compartido de las hermanas por crear algo propio. Mientras Karla y Angélica trabajan tiempo completo, Alejandra es madre de tiempo completo. Aun así, decidieron perseguir su sueño. Como explica Karla: “Nos convertimos en empresarias por decisión, resiliencia y amor”.
Fuerza de Hermanas
El negocio surgió de la decisión de combinar sus habilidades y emprender juntas un proyecto creativo. Alejandra lo resume así: “Se creó por amor. Amor de hermanas. Amor por crear. Amor por apoyarnos unas a otras”.
Cada hermana aporta fortalezas únicas: “Angélica aporta compromiso y lealtad. Yo aporto creatividad, intuición y sensibilidad. Karla aporta visión estratégica, dirección y liderazgo”. Esa esencia es la que hoy distingue a Magical Gems by Gely en cada mercado local y en las boutiques de Painted Tree en Chandler (Suite G4) y Gilbert (Suite H9), donde hoy pueden conectar directamente con sus clientes.
Obstáculos que fortalecen
Dirigir un negocio familiar tiene sus retos. Karla reconoce que “trabajar en familia no siempre es fácil” y que aprender a separar las emociones personales de las decisiones del negocio ha requerido disciplina y comunicación constante.
Como parte de su crecimiento, las hermanas se graduaron del Programa Acelerador de Negocios de Fuerza Local, Generación #23, lo que les dio herramientas para profesionalizar su negocio y la confianza para expandirse. Karla comenta: “Fuerza Local ha representado crecimiento, acompañamiento y educación empresarial… el acceso a programas como Acelerador de Negocios marca la diferencia entre sobrevivir y crecer estratégicamente”.
Según Angélica, su mayor logro ha sido más personal que comercial: “El mayor logro ha sido nuestro crecimiento personal como mujeres: aprender a escucharnos, confiar en nuestras capacidades y respetar nuestras diferencias”. Este crecimiento interno ha permitido que el negocio evolucione de manera sostenible y consciente.
Joyas con intención y significado
En Magical Gems by Gely, cada pieza se diseña con un tema o significado específico. Trabajan con cristales y piedras naturales como amatista, citrina y cuarzo rosa, además de perlas y piezas artesanales creadas por ellas mismas. Cada material transmite un mensaje particular:
“El cuarzo rosa invita al amor propio, no al amor hacia otro sino hacia ti misma”, dice Karla.
“La amatista representa calma y protección. La citrina es alegría y abundancia”.
Para las hermanas, las joyas son más que un accesorio de moda; son recordatorios tangibles de identidad, resiliencia y energía. Como explica Angélica: “No vendemos solo accesorios. Creamos piezas que conectan con emociones, temporadas y procesos personales”.

También retribuyen a su comunidad colaborando con organizaciones como She Thrives Foundation. Karla comparte: “Creamos un espacio donde las mujeres pueden sentirse vistas y acompañadas”.
Para quienes desean emprender, su consejo es sencillo: “No esperes a sentirte completamente lista. Empieza con lo que tienes. Aprende en el camino. Rodéate de mujeres que te impulsen y, sobre todo, hazlo desde tu esencia”. Alejandra agrega que cada compra tiene un significado especial: “No solo estás llevando una pieza de joyería, estás apoyando un sueño construido entre hermanas”.

The project began when one of them was going through a challenging professional phase. Rather than letting uncertainty slow them down, the sisters decided to channel that moment into a new venture. United by a desire to support each other, they decided to start a business together. The name of their business was inspired by their mother, Angélica, a woman whose influence and values embody the spirit of the brand.
Magical Gems by Gely reflects the sisters’ shared commitment to creating something of their own. While Karla and Angélica work full time, Alejandra is a full-time mother. As Karla explains, “We became entrepreneurs through choice, resilience and love.”
Strength in Sisterhood
The business hinges on combining the unique skills and talents that each sister contributes to the venture. Alejandra sums it up: “Angélica brings commitment and loyalty. I bring creativity, intuition and sensitivity. Karla brings strategic vision, guidance and leadership.” And the secret ingredient in their recipe for family business success? “It was created from love. Sisterly love,” adds Alejandra. “Love for creating. Love for supporting each other.”
Today, their jewelry can be found at local markets and at Painted Tree boutiques in Chandler (Suite G4) and Gilbert (Suite H9), where they connect directly with customers.
Obstacles That Empower
Running a family business has its challenges. Karla acknowledges that “working with family isn’t always easy” and that learning to separate personal emotions from business decisions has required discipline and constant communication.

As part of their business development, the sisters participated in Fuerza Local’s Business Accelerator Program’s Cohort Generation #23, which gave them tools to professionalize their business and the confidence to expand. Karla says, “Fuerza Local has meant growth, guidance and business education…access to programs like the Business Accelerator is what makes the difference between just surviving and growing strategically.”
Their greatest achievement, according to Angélica, has been more personal than commercial: “Our biggest accomplishment has been our personal growth as women: learning to listen to each other, trust in our abilities and respect our differences.” This internal growth has allowed the business to evolve sustainably and consciously.
Jewelry with Intention and its Meaning
At Magical Gems by Gely, each piece is designed with a specific theme or meaning in mind. They work with natural crystals and stones such as amethyst, citrine and rose quartz, in addition to pearls and handcrafted pieces made by the sisters themselves. Each material conveys a specific message:
“Rose quartz invites self-love — not love for someone else, but for yourself,” says Karla.
“Amethyst represents calm and protection. Citrine represents joy and abundance.”
For the sisters, jewelry functions as more than just a fashion item; it reflects their approach to combining design, symbolism and personal storytelling. As Angélica explains, “We don’t just sell accessories, we create pieces that connect with emotions, seasons and personal journeys.”

For the three sisters, Women’s Month is a chance to shine a light on the achievements and spirit of women everywhere. ‘It means celebrating female strength in all its forms,’ says Angélica. Creating jewelry with intention is a way to reflect and celebrate that resilience and power.
They also give back to the community by collaborating with organizations like She Thrives Foundation. Karla shares that through their work with the organization, they’ve “created a space where women can feel seen and supported.”
