#IndieWeekAZ 2024: Show Your Indie Love!
Here at Local First, we treasure Arizona’s independent businesses and consider it our duty and privilege to shine a light on these local indie gems so you can enjoy them, too. Each year, we turn up the indie love during the National Independents Week. From June 28 - July 4, organizations like ours designate a full week to supporting and helping raise awareness of locally-owned businesses.
By championing Arizona’s indie businesses and entrepreneurs, you are making a positive impact on our local communities and economies:
When you spend a dollar at a local independent business, 67 cents stays right here in our community.
The majority of that — 44 cents — goes to the indie business owner and their employees.
Local independent businesses reinvest 23 cents of every dollar into other local businesses.
In total, that dollar spent generates an additional 50 cents of local economic impact.
Basically, your money goes further when you support small businesses. Thirty cents of this impact comes from small businesses using local vendors, and another 20 cents is spent locally by the owners and their employees. So, every time you choose a local business, you're not just making a purchase; you're investing in a diverse, inclusive and prosperous Arizona.
