Get Out and Enjoy the Warmer Weather with These Local Patios

It’s getting warmer and warmer outside and that only means one thing...outdoor dining! It’s prime weather for getting a bite to eat on a patio or grabbing a drink outside with friends on a spring night (and hello St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th!) And for those who are ready to get out of the house but not dine in, then patios (or a picnic) are a perfect way to support local restaurants and bars. Arizona has an outstanding selection of outdoor patio dining options so take some time to explore, get outside, and enjoy some of the best that local Arizona has to offer.

Luckys, Phoenix

Luckys is one of Roosevelt Row’s newest hangouts and it is an incredible addition to the arts and entertainment district. As the weather gets warmer you can enjoy their 4,000 square foot patio that is loaded with bocce ball, picnic tables, and a vintage airstream bar with a deck that is ready to welcome both you and your four-legged, tail-wagging friends. When it gets a little too warm, you can escape to their 2,400 square foot indoor space. Your taste buds will never get bored of Luckys because they host a rotation of popular food trucks on the weekend and throughout the week you can order from Il Bosco Pizza online and they’ll deliver right to Luckys! For those who want to brag about their good time at Luckys, their eclectic vintage aesthetic is Instagram-ready. Lucky’s is open from 4 pm to 2 am with live music on the weekends and happy hour Monday through Saturday from 4 to 7 pm and that includes $2 off signature cocktails, and $1 off draft beer, wine, and drinks. Learn more on their website or check out their Instagram!

Pemberton, Phoenix

Remember when we were kids and the best place to go hangout with friends was the local playground? Pemberton is bringing that feeling to downtown Phoenix with a collection of over a dozen local businesses that range from wellness to crafts to delicious food. Made for anyone and everyone, Pemberton PHX is bringing a sense of community and celebration. Currently, Pemberton PHX is hosting a fitness series every Saturday and live music every Sunday to help get you ready for the week. These events are socially distanced and safe. Check out Abnormal Beer Co for beer, Dino’s Pizza Napoletana for pizza, FIlmBar for an open-air indie film screening and don’t miss the grand opening of Eat Saint Pasta on Mar. 10. AZ Wilderness, Gilbert and Phoenix

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company is the go-to location to enjoy the outdoors while supporting the outdoors --- and recent grads of the Arizona Green Business program! Their beers are inspired by the beauty and diversity of Arizona and they work hard to embrace the agricultural community and conserve Arizona’s natural resources through sustainable practices. Get burgers, Mexican food, smothered “wilderness” fries and more! Wash it down with some award-winning brews and enjoy a perfect day out on the patio in Gilbert or downtown Phoenix.

Joe’s BBQ, Gilbert

Family-owned and operated, this beloved restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy some BBQ and the pleasant weather on their climate-controlled patio or in their super cute picnic park. Joe’s Real BBQ is made using only Arizona pecan wood and smoke; no gas, electricity or shortcuts and this creates a deep flavor and a slice of tender meat. They also have jackfruit available for all the vegetarians out there. You can also choose from 12, that’s right, 12 side dishes. To complete your meal, grab one of their craveable desserts like peach cobbler and root beer cake. Come feel at home and don’t miss this perfect BBQ joint!

Mother Road Beer, Flagstaff

Mother Road Beer is named after the moniker given to Route 66 by author John Steinbeck. This bar and patio are inspired by the idea of finding joy in the adventure. You’re sure to feel that joy as you enjoy the crisp Flagstaff air and the slowly warming weather. On Sundays you can get your growlers refilled for $9; it's a great way to try all of the tasty craft beers on tap. The servers there are committed to great service and will help you find your new favorite. Add your story to the history of route 66 and catch a bite to eat and a drink at Mother Road Beer.

Monterey Court, Tucson

Spending time at Monterey Court is a recipe for a good time! Monterey Court is a vintage 1930's motor court on the historic Miracle Mile in Tucson. The beautiful, shaded outdoor courtyard is the centerpiece of the venue, where guests are served delicious American comfort food from the onsite cafe while enjoying live music. A full bar offers excellent wines and liquors, and local craft-brewed beers. The seating areas are temperature adjusted for dining comfort. Concerts are scheduled Tuesday thru Sunday evenings, as well as Sundays during brunch. Music genres of every type are incorporated into the calendar, with great local, national and international performers gracing the stage. While you listen, you can peruse the surrounding charming casitas that have been repurposed into artisan shops and galleries. Check out the full calendar of music and events, menus and make reservations here.

The Coronet, Tucson

The Coronet, where classic sensibility meets international cuisine. This local favorite is beloved by Tucsonans and travelers alike. Right in the heart of the Barrio Viejo neighborhood, sits a historic 160-year-old building with three beautiful courtyard patios to relax in and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can savor local offerings as The Coronet highlights regional makers. The Coronet uses a bounty of vegetables from SouthWinds Farm, proudly serves Barrio Bread, Maya Tea, Queen Creek Olive Mill oil and collaborates with local vintner Sand Reckoner to produce wine blends that highlight southern Arizona growers. Relish in live local music on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights while sipping a Whiskey Del Bac cocktail. Enjoy a meal infused with love and intention, live local music and true hospitality in a beautifully serene space.  We promise you will leave with a smile on your face and looking forward to returning again to The Coronet.

Whichever patio you decide to stop by, you can be assured that they are following COVID protocol to keep you and other patrons safe. Local businesses still need us - choose a day each week to support local restaurants or a couple nights a week to grab a local drink on a patio.
