Fuerza Local Spotlight: Princess Anna Bowtique
Valentine's Day is the day of love, not only to our friends and family but also towards local businesses! What better way to show the love than to support a local businesswoman who opened her business Princess Anna Bowtique on social networks in 2018. Owner Maricela offers hair bows, 100% handmade knit headbands, velvet knot headbands, and scrunchies.
“I felt a little nervous and a lot of excitement when I first decided to start my own business. I did not have a job; I was a full-time housewife with 6 children at home. That really limited the time I had to work so the best option turned out to be working from home and building a business around something that I was good at and loved to do. Now I can support my family with the dream I always had!”
To support Maricela and her family, you can purchase their products online at the Shop Arizona Marketplace. Maricela will also soon be participating in two events where you can meet her and purchase her products. You can find her on Saturday, February 13 at the Hello Handmade Market from 10 am to 3 pm and at the Baby and Kid Event on Saturday, February 20 from 9 am to 2 pm. Both events will be at Arrowhead Towne Center in the city of Glendale, Arizona.
In addition to being a Hispanic businesswoman, Maricela is a current 16th cohort student in the Fuerza Local Business Accelerator, which started on February 3, 2021. She is acquiring knowledge and business education to elevate her business to another level along with other students from the city of Avondale.
Maricela understands the importance of supporting local businesses, “My business is local and each item I make is handmade and that makes it very special in the market. I don't make large quantities because what I offer is quality and not quantity. Buying local matters. The money you spend on local businesses stays here in Arizona. When you buy from Princess Anna Bowtique, you are supporting a mother of 6 children, who are in this pandemic and with the children at home. You are helping to bring food to my home and support an entrepreneur mom to fulfill her dreams.”
