As a founding member of the Fuerza Local Steering Committee for Local First Arizona, Del Sol Furniture has been a shining example of a successful Hispanic-owned business that remains loyal to their Arizona roots. Since its inception in 1997, the Macias family has made it a mission to educate and be a positive influence on the local community. They’ve opened four stores around the valley, as well as a 25,000 square foot distribution center in West Phoenix. Del Sol Furniture continues to grow and provide the community with products that are crafted with quality and affordability in mind. Recently, they have undertaken some initiatives to further their impact on the local economy the “Arizona Mattress.”

We wanted to make a mattress that reminded people to shop local. In the end, there are a lot of places to buy a mattress, but we know there are a lot of people who want to support their local community when possible.
— ALEX MACIAS, VICE PRESIDENT AND LOCAL FIRST ARIZONA BOARD MEMB

The mattress is completely made in the USA and follows very strict standards of safety. You can rest easy knowing you are sleeping on CertiPur foam; meaning they are made without ozone-depleters, mercury, lead, formaldehyde, phosphates, and have a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound). Del Sol Furniture will use proceeds from this mattress to support Local First Arizona Foundation; so, you can feel good knowing your purchase is helping give back to the community.

Del Sol wants you to be happy with your purchase, that is why they give every customer the opportunity to try their mattresses before they buy them in their stores. They also give a bonus of safe measure by offering a comfort guarantee so you can feel at ease with your choice.

Recently, the Macias family bought the whole Del Sol team State Forty-Eight Localist t-shirts. If this is the first time hearing about the shirt, it is a collaboration between the local clothing brand and Local First Arizona that helps support our program’s initiatives. The Macias’ purchase not only helps make the Del Sol team look stylish but has helped us further our support in creating the kind of place we’re all proud to call home.

We love Arizona and we try to support anything Arizona. Del Sol was founded here, and our local customers are who have built our business. State Forty-Eight and Local First Arizona are both great brands that do an incredible job of reminding people of shopping local.

What’s next for Del Sol Furniture? Well, their 2020 is pretty full. They continue to support several causes such as the ASU Hispanic Business Alumni scholarship events, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Telethon, and Chicanos Por La Causa Shelters. Not to mention offering customers high-quality furniture at a reasonable price. Alejandro Macias declares, “Our plan is to continue to support any organization or individual that is fighting to make Arizona a better place”.  With that, we’re excited to see what Del Sol Furniture does next!
