Buy Local Month Shopping Guide – Tucson

It’s that time of year again! A common sight on Black Friday is hordes of people lined up in front of chain stores with wallets open wide, looking for terrific deals. Put on your “local economist” glasses and you may see it in a new light: the pipelines of chain store commerce pumping all of that money out of the communities made up of the hard-working people that earned it, right back to their corporate headquarters. But hey, cheap gadgets!

So what can we do? How about skipping the long lines and spending your money on unique items from local businesses! Not only will your gifts be fresh and original, you will be supporting the local businesses that in turn support their community.

Buy Local Month runs from November 23 through December 24, and serves as a reminder to shift the way you shop this holiday season. Even just a 10% shift in your holiday shopping can create a huge impact on your local economy and community!

Check out these great deals going on throughout Buy Local Month in the Tucson area. There are also some great gift ideas!
