Tucson Holiday Shopping Road Trip Recap

Localist street signDuring Buy Local Month, we here at Local First Arizona like to provide fun and interactive events to engage individuals to shift their shopping and keep more money where their home is.  This year, we organized our very first Holiday Shopping Road Trip where we took a shuttle full of Phoenicians to Tucson to spend the day visiting independently owned shops where attendees could find unique items for their holiday gift giving.  Our group of twenty Phoenicians hit up the Sunshine Mile and 4th Avenue shops, where we made a combined economic impact of $3,635 – all at locally owned shops!  We put together a recap of the great spots we visited below – be sure to check them out the next time you are in the Old Pueblo! Big thanks go to Local First Arizona’s Tucson Director Deanna Chevas and Councilwoman Karin Uhlich for welcoming us to Tucson, and to Dale DeNunzio with Retrotrek for donating his beautiful holiday cards and postcards to attendees!

This was a great trip! Well-organized, the shop owners were great…as were their shops, and it was a lot of fun. Thanks for pulling this together. I would definitely do it again!
