For September’s Local First Arizona Member Mixer, we met up at buzzberry in Scottsdale. The shop, fully equipped with a drive-thru, was ready with coffee, teas and sandwiches—all made in-house. As attendees packed in the ‘buzz’ became stronger with members mingling and sipping on refreshing smoothies.
LFA’s Board Chair, Jim Mapstead, led our meeting portion and discussed the latest news on Fuerza Local, our new Arcadia/Calle 16/Bethany Small Wonders Map and the Fall Festival. Special mention was also made of Director Kimber Lanning, who at the time was representing LFA in Chicago with the BALLE fellows. The energy was palpable as several new, old and sustaining members shared their excitement to be part of the local movement.
