Buy Local Week: Tucson

Black Friday: when regular folks become cattle, trampling each other for the newest, best marketed,  glowing object at their nearest warehouse of cheap-goods-made-elsewhere. We at Local First Arizona ask: is it worth it? Let me suggest an alternative: unique gifts bought at locally owned businesses. The benefits are numerous; the top reasons being originality, economy (more money stays in your community when you patronize local businesses!), and experience.

Many local businesses are offering terrific holiday deals for Buy Local Week, which runs from November 26 – December 5 (note that this is longer than Black Friday, because locals love you!). Before making your list and checking it twice, think about this: when you shop at a locally owned business, 45% of your dollars recirculate in your community. Only 13% stay in the community when you choose a national chain. Now think about how much money is spent statewide over the holidays… if everyone were to shop locally, three times the amount of money would stay here in our state. That’s pretty astounding, especially since everyone seems to be looking around, wondering where all of the money is going.

So taking that into account, check out some of these great deals you can find at local Tucson businesses during Buy Local Week!

All offers are valid November 26 – December 5th unless otherwise noted
All images are linked to the business’ websites for information on store locations.

Not only is Buffalo Exchange offering Buy Local Week Discounts, but they’re also giving you a chance to improve the holidays for those who might not have the means. Choose any of the options below for participating locations and all the info!

Most local businesses are way overpriced and its difficult during these trying times. However I will go to bookmans, antigones and maybe buffalo exchange but these are for my own personal use items. Its so much easier to get something, get it wrapped and shipped on amazon.com at least for me.
